Family Life Services Ministry at Creekside Christian Church consists of several different ministries, led by servants and volunteers who are deeply devoted to the sharing of Christ’s love, to those at Creekside and those in our surrounding communities.
We are told to love your neighbor as yourself (Luke 10:25); to carry each others burdens (Gal 6:2); to do so with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting one another in love (Eph 4:2); and that what matters most is faith working through love (Gal 5:6). Jesus tells us that whatever we do for the least of our brothers, we do for Him (Matt 25:40). This we do out of love, for we could donate all our goods to feed the poor, but without love we gain nothing (I Cor 13:3).
Often we may be the first faces from Creekside that some see. We are “Good Samaritans” who ask not, “What will happen to me if I get involved?” but “What will happen to them if I don’t?” We are our brother’s keeper, whether those we serve are rich or poor, righteous or at the moment unrepentant, a saved Christian or lost soul.
We pray that God’s mercy and grace, through the Lord Jesus, would reach through us to families facing debilitating financial hardships, separations, worry, and doubt. Those who may or may not have heard the Good Word, but due to a time of testing have departed from it. We are here for those of you who are choked by the worries of life, or those who have riches and pleasures of life but produce no fruit. We want to guide you to the hearing of the Good News of Jesus Christ with an honest and good heart, so that you may hold onto it and produce good fruit! (Luke 8:4-15)
PRAYER AND CARE MINISTRY: If you have any prayer requests, concerns, praises, or offers of thanksgiving you would like to share, we are ready and willing to pray with you and your family, lifting those requests to God through His son Jesus. We also have volunteers willing to come by for a friendly visit if you are not well, at home or in the hospital. One of our families is training a companion dog and is willing to bring him along at your request. Even if you need a ride to an appointment we have those willing to help. Our Care Ministry also fills baskets with special items during Holidays so that our families can share special Holiday meals together.
FOOD PANTRY MINISTRY: FLSM stocks a small food pantry with donations given by members of our church family who care deeply about the physical needs of our local families and community. It is stocked with dry and canned grocery goods, household cleaning items, and personal toiletries. The pantry is open to anyone, and there are no forms to fill out, no qualifications to meet, or income requirements required to be blessed from this ministry.
MILITARY FAMILY MINISTRY: Through our Military Ministry we reach out to families of our brave military members. When a loved one is deployed we will send care packages so they know we are thinking about them and are proud of their service. We are also proud of the families at home and their sacrifices and offer to help with chores around the home, cutting the grass or however we can be of service. One of our ladies is training a “Patriot Dog” who will be a companion to a disabled veteran. Let us serve you, who serve us, so that we may all enjoy the blessings of liberty.
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY: Brought to you from Dave Ramsey, this is a 13 week course that will teach you and your family biblical principles about money and teach you how to eliminate the burden of debt that so many of our families struggle with. If you would imagine for one moment…..Debt free! To be able to enjoy the blessings of God and to share those blessings with others. Imagine what you could do for the Kingdom of God!
